BMW and MINI TIMING TOOLS

With each evolution of BMW engines brings a new set of timing tools that are needed to properly put the engine in proper time.

Baum Tools stocks BMW timing tools for the M50 up to the M56 (6 cylinder engines) M42 and M44 (4 cylinders). M60 and M62 (V-8 cylinder engines). S50, S54, S62 and S85 series “MPOWER” in the M3 and M5.

Currently BMW has come out with the NG series engines (New Generation). We also stock the timing tools for these. N42 and N46 (4 cylinders). N51, 52, 53 and N54 (6 cylinders). N62 V-8 and the N73 (V-12 engines).

As with any repair consult factory repair manuals so you know what you are getting in to with these engines. The modern engines cannot be “eyeballed” anymore. You will end up with the MIL on and chasing your tail. Trust me, I talk to the guys who say, “I don’t need any special tools, I marked everything with paint”. I talk to them again when they have taken the engine apart for the “umpteenth” time!
